This is my list of some extremely interesting Web Sites to visit, plus one or two fun ones. They include military aircraft sites dedicated to World War II and to the memory of the Veterans who fought so bravely; memorial sites; and stories of the resistance. Just click on the globe image.

Go to http://www.rafinfo.org.uk/rafescape/ Royal Air Forces Escaping Society 1945-1995".   2,803 of the Royal and Commonwealth Air Forces aircrew who were shot down during WWII managed either to escape from captivity or, in the majority of cases, to evade capture.
Go to http://www.rafbombercommand.com/ "RAF Bomber Command".   Motto: Strike Hard Strike Sure.   This website tells the story of the Royal Air Force's bomber aircrews, airmen and airwomen and their contribution to victory in the Second World War.

Go to http://www.cwgc.org/ "Commonwealth War Graves Commission".   This Website's "Debt of Honour Register" is an outstanding database and an essential resource for anyone wishing to trace persons killed or missing during the two World Wars.

Go to http://www.lancaster-archive.com/homeindex.htm The Avro Lancaster & Manchester Archive (formerly "Larry's Bomber Command") - this website is a founding member of the Society of Bomber Command Historians (SBCH). Research requests can be made for Bomber Command related topics only by emailing SBCH directly.

Follow the link to the page about the Messerschmidt ME 108, which crashlanded in Belgium on 10th January 1940, and see the rare photographs taken by Hubert Van Hecke, Marthe Janssen-Leyder's son-in-law.

This contains a comprehensive collection of spy weapons and devices, sabotage equipment and the personal equipment of three clandestine operators of the American O.S.S.

Go to http://www.christopherlong.co.uk/ Christopher Long is a Journalist, Editor and Foreign Correspondent. His website includes an extrememly interesting section on the 'Pat Line', an Escape and Evasion Line in France in World War II.
Go to http://www.belgiumww2.info/ "Escape and Evasion Belgium - WW2". John Clinch's website documents the stories of British POWs who escaped and hid in the Flemish countryside and of the brave people who helped them. In English and in French.

This website is about the men of the Belgian underground who dared to risk their lives in defence of their country against German occupagion. In doing this they risked their lives but helped many allied airmen to escape and return home.

Go to http://www.britishlegion.org.uk/ "The Royal British Legion" - the United Kingdom's leading charity safeguarding the welfare, interests and memory of those who have served in the Armed Forces and their dependants.
Go to http://www.elsham.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ypres.html "Ypres and the Somme" - where to go, where to stay, what to see. A page on Rob Davis' Website. Not exactly WW II but very interesting if you wish to visit Flanders in Belgium.
