footnote

The youngest of Andreas' six children, Pierre Leyder, (1784-1847), moved to Antwerp. His descendant is Edmond BASTIAENS, a great great great great great grandson of Mathias Leyder and my fifth cousin once removed (his mother, Charlotte LEYDER, was my fifth cousin). This makes Edmond a sixth cousin to my children, to my nephews and nieces and to Yvonne's, children.

If you have just found this page, the main site is dedicated to the memory of my aunt, Marthe Janssen-Leyder. My 'Background History' Page gives some information about Belgium during World War Two. My Tribute pages tell you about Marthe's work for the Belgian Secret Army. Don't miss reading Marthe's True Stories (written in her own words). Find out how her home town of Eisden honoured her memory and her bravery with a special Commemorative Plaque set in the wall of the house she lived in.
